I began trading as a freelance designer in May 2007 after finishing
maternity leave. I feel fortunate to be able to work from home,
doing the job I enjoy, and having the added bonus of looking after
my daughter all at the same time. As well as being self-employed
I also help out at Mid-Cheshire College on Monday afternoons,
helping to teach 14-16 year olds on a new media course.
After
leaving Weaverham High School I began studying Graphic Design
at Mid-Cheshire College. I then went to NEWI to study Illustration,
but left for a job as a repro artist/mac operator at a local platemakers.
Here I learnt advanced mac skills, methods to produce excellent
print ready artwork and taught me the value of a speedy work ethic.
I
specialise in Adobe Illustrator (currently using licensed CS2),
simply due to the amazing quality of vector graphics. I will use
Photoshop and Indesign where required, and am highly skilled with
the entire creative suite.
I
play roller hockey, and train with the Northwich Cobras (very
girly). I also enjoy snowboarding and aim to hit the slopes every
winter. I'd love to take up surfing one day, I like swimming and
(trying to) keep fit.
